A Taiwanese take on Japanese food in a house built in 1931 by a Japanese professor (during the years of occupation) in a Taipei back alley… Mackerel with salt and lime for dipping was very reminiscent of Japan. Hotpot, with lots of leafy greens and fish balls, tasted classic Taiwan. Yet another angle on the complex food history of this place.
